1.Various academic competition and awards

The university strongly encourages graduate students to actively participate in high-level academic competitions in order to enhance the graduates’ innovative and practical skills, and create a good campus cultural atmosphere. From 2012 to 2016, our students actively participated in various academic competitions outside the school, and they won a lot of awards. Among them, in the 2015-2016 Vex Robot World Championships held in the United States, the representatives of our university won the awards “CREATE AWARD”. This was the best score that all Chinese teams have achieved in university group that year. According to statistics, the colleges in our university won more than 397 awards above the provincial level from 2015 to 2016, and 393 students won the prize. Among them, the first prize accounted for 25%; the second prize accounted for 29%; and the third prize accounted for 15%. In recent years, each cultivation unit has further encouraged students to participate in off-campus academic competitions; to show themselves in a larger area, a wider range, and a higher platform; to better cultivate students’ practical and innovative capabilities; and to substantially increase their overall competitiveness.

2.Paper publication and scientific research achievements

     (1). Humanities and Social Sciences research papers

From 2012 to 2016, there are 794 scientific research achievements for PhD graduates of Humanities and Social Sciences in school, including 702 core papers, 51 authoritative papers, and 41 monographs, all of them were first authors. Master graduates published 341 papers in school, including 317 core papers (193 papers as first authors, 124 papers as second authors), and 24 authoritative papers (10 papers as first authors, 14 papers as second authors).

       (2) Natural Sciences research papers

Graduate students of natural sciences published a total of 4295 papers, of which 2114 were core papers, including 1804 papers as first authors, 310 as second authors, and 163 authoritative papers (121 as first authors, 42 as second authors). They also published 2018 papers in SCI(E) (1648 as first authors and 370 as second authors).

During the period of science, natural science graduates obtained 768 patents and software copyrights during the school period, including 535 domestic and foreign patents of invention, 79 utility model patents, 12 Industrial Design patents, and 142 software copyrights.
